Ron Retzer is a public school teacher in Buckeye Local School District. He has a B.A. degree from Alderson-Broaddus
College and a Masters degree from Dayton University.
Since 1983 he has been a member of WWVA Jamboree
in Wheeling, WV, former music director for Jamboree and the pianist and vocalist for the WWVA Jamboree Staff band, "11/70".
During that time, Ron also worked with the "star" contracts for Jamboree, Jamboree In The Hills, Capitol Music Hall
and Jamboree productions at Wesbanco Arena.
Ron has performed at the Ohio State Fair, West Virginia State
Fair and has performed for Robert Byrd, Jay Rockefeller, Alan Mollohan, Gaston Caperton, Bob Wise and traveled to Canada,
Newfoundland, Greenland and the Eastern United States to perform.
Through the WWVA Jamboree, Ron has worked with
almost all the biggest country music stars in America.
He and gospel singer Mark Statler had their own radio show
on WWVA radio every Sunday morning called "Feeling At Home" for several years.
Ron has headlined Jamboree
USA multiple times and for many years has had the privilege of opening Jamboree In The Hills by singing our national anthem
along with the Canadian national anthem. He is also an assistant to the production manager of Jamboree In The Hills which
oversees all activity back stage for all acts.
He also owns and performs on a replica of Ben Franklin’s musical
glass bowls called an "armonica".
Ron performs in this area for many functions, festivals, activities,
concerts and clubs. He loves this area and the people who listen to his music. Ron and his wife, Patty, make their home
in Brilliant, Ohio.
